If you have run out of time or don’t feel confident that you know enough about book design, one of our experienced and professional designers can create your book for you.
The designer will sit with you, show the various book options and advise on what size and format best suits your pictures. Once you have chosen a style and size, you will submit all the necessary content (images, wording, scans etc) to the designer. Once the book is designed, you will have a chance to proof your book and make any changes before it goes to print.
Here are a few important tips and facts to remember when preparing for your photobook
ORMS offers competitive bulk scanning prices if you wish to turn all your old photographs into a photobook. We also offer retouching services.
Aside from the cost to print the book, designers charge an additional R300 per hour. The amount of design time depends on the size and complexity of your photobook.
Please note, photobooks take 7 – 10 working days to print and bind. Remember to factor this into your schedule.
4. Organising your photos
It is always best to be as organised as possible with your photos. Order the photographs chronologically, using either a folder or naming system. For example, if you wish our designers to create a wedding album, you could order your folders according to chronollogy of events ie. ‘Getting Ready’, ‘Ceremony’, ‘Reception’, ‘Going Home’.
5. Organising your text
If you want to include an copy or text, type it out in a Word document and save it in the correct folder.
